Global Communities Welcomes Daniel Anthony, Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs

Silver Spring, MD – Global Communities is pleased to announce that Daniel Anthony has joined Global Communities as Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs.  Anthony has extensive experience developing and implementing humanity-focused marketing and communications plans in corporate and nonprofit environments.
In his new role, Anthony will oversee external and internal communications as well as public affairs for Global Communities, an international nonprofit organization with programs in more than 25 countries. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Events at Atlas Network, a nonprofit, non-partisan association of more than 485 independent civil society organizations in over 90 countries advocating for policy solutions that strengthen good governance, property rights, rule of law and efforts to alleviate poverty. During his time at Atlas Network, he overhauled the organization’s communications and brand strategy, rapidly expanding its presence and influence, and conducted a variety of trainings and lectures on strategic communications and leadership in Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Hungary, India, Nepal, Slovakia, South Africa, Thailand and the United States.
Additionally, Anthony has served in leadership roles at the nonprofit, non-partisan think tank Illinois Policy Institute in Chicago; at the communications consulting and advertising firm Saatchi & Saatchi (Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability division) in San Francisco and Chicago; and at the National Youth Leadership Forum on Technology in Washington and San Jose, Calif.

Anthony has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Languages with an emphasis on Spanish Linguistics and Latin American Literature from Illinois State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in International Business from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
