Since 2006, the West African Health Organization has undertaken a process to harmonize training curricula for nurses and midwives in the region using a competency-based approach (CBA) to replace classic training. This technical brief outlines the advantages of CBA and IntraHealth’s support for its implementation in Mali’s health training schools.
