Migratory animal herders in Burkina Faso lose between 7-14% of their herd each year, mostly due to drought-induced lack of pasture and water. PCI is partnering with SNV Netherlands Development Organisation to provide technical and evaluation support on the MODHEM (MObile Data for Moving HErd Management and better incomes) project. MODHEM aims to reduce livestock death and improve livelihoods by providing pastoralists and farmers with access to an information service that helps them locate pasture and water.
