What Does It Mean To Let Her Dream?

Over the last few weeks, we have taken a journey together across continents and through time zones to explore what happens when girls have the opportunity to dream.

We told you about Ruksana, a girl who transformed her life through vocational training and now runs a successful business at home. We also shared a story about Yvonne, whose passion for engineering as a child has turned into a career that is transforming lives. Through her work, she is helping to bring clean water and sanitation facilities to schools that would otherwise go without.

We saw how girls around the globe are not only dreaming of a brighter future but actively building one.

Today is International Day of the Girl Child, and this year’s theme is “With Her: A Skilled GirlForce,” a call to action to advocate and invest in ways for girls to obtain an education and learn marketable skills.

For each year a girl stays in primary school, she earns 10-20% more as an adult. And for each year of high school she finishes, her income jumps 15-25%.

Millions of girls are faced with barriers to education and opportunity, but we can do our part by equipping girls with what they need to succeed. Take one last look at what it means to #LetHerDream.
