CHF Launches SkillConnect Portal with Confederation of Indian Industry
Skill Connect was designed by CHF International-India in partnerships with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to gather information on both demand and supply of the informal workforce at a geographic, industry sector and job profile level. This information is intended to serve as a neutral platform for bringing together employers, job seekers, vocational training providers, and third party services. Thirty corporations have participated in a survey so far that captures their immediate and near term human resource needs for entry level, blue collar jobs. The public launch of the Skill Connect portal was intended to garner support amongst industry members and gain input for leveraging this platform. CII will carry this portal into the next phase and deepen engagement with workers in partnership with NGOs like Bangalore-based LabourNet.
