Working with the Private Sector Factsheet
Global Communities brings people together – communities, government bodies, local organizations and the private sector – to design and implement our programs. We have successfully worked with a wide array of populations, from native communities in Honduras to war-torn countries, such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and youth affected by HIV in Rwanda. Our experience all over the world has taught us one thing above all: a community that directs its own development will produce sustainable development.
Understanding the role of the local and international private sector is vital to our work. Our experience is that the private sector is essential to empowering change from within a community. The interests of the people with whom we work are best served by the two sectors doing business together to meet both commercial and community needs.
