Letter to Ambassador Cousens Supporting a Sustainable Cities Development Goal 
The International Housing Coalition (IHC) and Habitat for Humanity organized a sign on letter this week to Ambassador Elizabeth Cousens who represents the U.S. Government at the United Nations, in support of a goal on sustainable cities and human settlements as part of the post-2015 development framework currently under discussion. Eighteen organizations, including Global Communities, signed on to the letter and it was sent to Ambassador Cousens. The debate around the framework has reached a critical juncture and hopefully this letter will help convince the U.S. Government of the importance of supporting a goal that recognizes the importance of cities and human settlements.
