Our Statement on the Separation of Families at the Border
Published 06/22/2018 by Global Communities
At the heart of our work at Project Concern International (PCI) is the belief that families are the strongest link to enhance health, end hunger and overcome hardship around the world. We are deeply concerned about the separation of children from their families happening along the U.S.-Mexico border. We are in constant contact with our partner organizations across the border to lend support as local agencies care for children separated from their parents.
America is better than this, and we are heartened by the Administration’s action on Wednesday. Our hope is the Administration and Congress will enact common sense solutions to keep families together while respecting the importance of the rule of law.
Yesterday, our President & CEO Carrie Hessler-Radelet signed this letter, along with the heads of 89 other NGOs, to leaders in Congress expressing opposition to the practice of prosecuting asylum seekers and detaining families at the U.S.-Mexico border.
