Ann Nicocelli Named Global Communities’ Vice President of Strategic Partnerships
Silver Spring, Maryland – Global Communities today announced the appointment of Ann Nicocelli as its Vice President for Strategic Partnerships. Ms. Nicocelli joins Global Communities most recently from MetLife where she served as Vice President, Global Government Relations, and has spent the last two decades working on the evolution of the relationship between the business world and emerging economies.

In her role at MetLife, Ms. Nicocelli supported the company’s government relations and international business segments with a primary focus on Latin America, Europe and India. This included building partnerships with international trade and industry associations, business leaders and US and foreign government officials to develop global strategies with local impact, influence policy and drive business success. Prior to MetLife, she worked for the US Chamber of Commerce in several roles, including as Director of Global Policy and Managing Director of the Chamber’s New York office. Ms. Nicocelli was also Executive Director of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and worked for the Organization of American States.

Ms. Nicocelli has held various additional leadership positions, such as the Chair of the American-Romanian Business Council, Vice Chair of the US-Poland Business Council, and a Member of the International Policy Committee of the US Chamber of Commerce. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from Hood College, and a Master’s degree from The George Washington University in International Affairs – Business and Economics. Ms. Nicocelli is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and enjoys competing in marathons and triathlons.

“Global Communities is delighted to bring Ann onto our Senior Management Team, where her leadership and expansive experience working across different sectors, from government to private industry, will undoubtedly prove invaluable in leading the Office for Strategic Partnerships,” said David A. Weiss, President and CEO of Global Communities. “As the relationship between NGOS, governments, and the private sector evolves away from the corporate social responsibility to the shared value model, Ann’s ability to identify and cultivate productive partnerships is increasingly vital to achieving our mission to be “Partners for Good” with vulnerable communities across the globe. Strategic partnerships are at the core of our approach to addressing challenges like global poverty, strengthening community resilience in the face of conflict and disaster, and building the capacity of civil society around the world. Having someone with Ann’s drive and convening power will help us to make all the difference.”
